Excerpt: Great concept! Almost everything is spot on EXCEPT the neck, (the area that little silver arm is connected to) is too loose. There is (unfortunately) no way to tighten this. I am using a IPhone 4s which is heavy but the tripod should be able to hold it at the intended angle and not slip out of...
Pros: Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Magnetic Feet
Excerpt: Received tripod for a DSLR and on my first attempt at using it, one of the joints cracked upon normal operation. I'm hoping that Joby will respond to my warranty request and either repair or replace the product as it seems to have promise, only time will tell.
Excerpt: It would be great if it stayed in place but just the weight of my iPhone 5 makes the tripod top twist down and out of position. I thought it was because of my Otter Box case so I used it completely by itself but the same thing kept happening.
Pros: Compact, Good Footing, Lightweight, Smooth Movement
Excerpt: I am a professional videographer from the US and I am currently filming Safaris in Zimbabwe, Africa. I bought this product for use with my Hero3 Black edition GoPro cameras which I use for second and third camera angles to supplement my main camera.
Pros: Lightweight, Small
Cons: Flimsy Construction, Poor Video Quality, Unstable
Excerpt: Will not remotely support 3 kilos! I was looking to use this as a low ground tripod for in situ macro photographs of spring flowers with a modern dslr macro 100mm lens on a small ball head. Nope, no way this unit can about support a Sigma DP-- or Sony RX.
Excerpt: I intend to use this tripod on table or wrap around some columns or branches to take photo of myself and family. The item look cheap to me especially the joints where all 3 legs merge at the top which are only fastened by a big screw that doesn't look secure to me.
Summary: You get what you pay for. The legs are pretty much all plastic, and making them clamp sturdy to anything is a challenge, if not impossible. I guess for light use, it would work, yet it cannot take a beating. I had one of the legs break as I was trying to get it to clamp firmly to something.
Excerpt: The magnets on this thing are terrific, and the legs are marvelously strong for the size. I just wish the ball head was a little tighter, or there was a way to adjust the amount of resistance it has. It starts to sink with what seems to me like way too low a weight threshhold.
Excerpt: Well built , easy to use grip pod , my D200 with 17-55 DX was a little heavy for this model . Maybe if I used the tripod head they sell on it. B&H was super fast on shipping but Im let down because of the product. with 17-55 on it the tripod kept wanting to fall over even after adjustments .
