Don't buy this tripod !

Jubijub, B&H Photo
26 April 2014
  • Excerpt: What I like about this tripod : - it's light, it fits in the side pockets of my lowepro 180 - the concept is original, and promising What I don't like : everything else : D - the legs of the pod are hard to bend in shape as I want, yet once the camera is on it, the legs can't hold it, and bend under...

Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom

backpacker1, REI
7 July 2013
  • Summary: I was extremely happy at first. Well, even for the first year I owned it, it worked great. Held my DSLR just fine. Adjusted easily to the terrain I was leveling a camera against. Is small enough to find room for it in my backpack...
  • Pros: Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing
  • Cons: Flimsy, Wears Easily

Bad Gorillapod

Photo for fun, B&H Photo
5 December 2012
  • Excerpt: I use one of these for a Nikon D5000 and only had it for just over 1 year. The flexible joints that the ball fits into cracked. I did some research on the internet and found out other people had the same problem. Some of them got their Gorillapod replaced from Joby, so I contacted Joby.
  • Cons: Unstable, Weak Clamp

Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom

groovintito, REI
28 September 2011
  • Summary: Right out of the box I tried to adjust the legs and one of them broke off. I don't know if it was a lemon or this is just poor craftsmanship. I would not recommend this to anyone with an slr.
  • Cons: Unstable, Weak Construction

Fails to deliver

Sagie, B&H Photo
13 July 2011
  • Excerpt: Great idea in theory, in practice - do not buy this, or be aware of its shortcomings. I bought this combo, rated by Joby to supposedly support a 3kg load. I tried it with a plain Nikon D90 + a VR Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G lens (+UV filter). Nothing more.
  • Pros: Folds Small
  • Cons: Expensive, Time consuming, Unreliable, Unstable, Weak Construction

Unusual but limited uses

Filmertography, B&H Photo
5 June 2011
  • Excerpt: This product is pitched at being able to hold 3kgs and as a tabletop tripod. The packaging pictures show a DSLR mounted on it when it is "wrapped" around a tree branch and only a small "point & shoot" when used as a table-top tripod. Well the pictures don't lie.
  • Pros: Lightweight
  • Cons: Unstable

Hält nicht, was es verspricht.

Szabo & dAtri GbR, Amazon
12 May 2015

col IT GmbH, Amazon
29 August 2013

goldennugget_de, Amazon
13 April 2013
  • Summary: Ich schliesse mich anderen Rezensionen mit mangelhafter Bewertung hier an.
