Summary: I love this. The tripod is about as useful as a kickstand on a bicycle. You forget how practical it is until you actually have one around. You will really love the convenience of being able to prop up your camera on your desk rather than laying your camera on the surface and possibly getting the camera body scratched. I've noticed I habitually use the tripod all the time now. And my camera's anodized finish remains scratch free. It folds unobtrusively away.
Summary: Did you ever want to take a photo of yourself, for your Facebook page for example, and had a hard time balancing the camera on a pile of books on a table? You keep adding phone books to get it to the right height and then you take the photo using the timer and find the phone book is showing in the bottom of the picture.
Summary: This little tripod is a lesson in both good design and creating practical products that are well-made -- something other manufacturers could really learn from. The tripod is amazingly slender and out of the way. I love the simple, elegant look and the excellent results using it. I have the larger Gorilla Pod (2 actually)for my sons' Flip Cams, but this is the perfect solution when carry around an extra accessory is a hassle and inconvenient.
Summary: This tripod is awesome. I have been looking for one for ages that was easy to use and portable without all the fuss, and here it is. The GorillaPod is super small and lightweight. The only downside is that I have to remove it to change batteries or access my memory card, but that's a small inconvenience to deal with since the tripod fits both my digital camera and my flip and screws on and off with relative ease.
Summary: I have not made it to the digital SLR phase yet, so I have a very powerful point and shoot Nikon - Ashton Kutcher shilled for it when it came out last year. Anyway, this is very light and extremely useful for shorting stills and the for using the video mode. Rather than worrying about my kids while shooting their picture (or video), I can put my camera on this tripod and free myself up so I can be part of the action.
Summary: I knew that the GorillaPod would be a great for my wife's small Canon point-and-shoot to provide support when needed for her photography. The small, light, tripod is designed so that it can be left attached to the bottom of the camera. On my wife's camera, this does block the card/battery slot. Also, attached the tripod does not want to fit in my wife's tight fitting camera pouch. (Not the tripod's fault) The tripod is very basic, it basically has one position when open.
Summary: Barely several inches long and about 3/4s of an inch wide this all metal unit holds several of my digital point and shoots comfortably as well as two of the larger units the s1000 and the s2500hd. It is light and strong and discreetly lives at the bottom of the camera it is on, thus giving one an immediate tripod in those situations where one is desperately needed.. Open it up and the swivel head allows me to rotate the camera into many different positions.
Very well made and very useful...within its limits

Summary: What with practically everything being made out of plastic these days, what a wonderful feeling to have a well-made light weight metal gadget! I decided I would try it on my mega-zoom. They make a larger model for this type of camera, but I wanted to see how this would do with the extra weight. It works just great!
Summary: I popped open the easy-open package, pulled out a small thing approximately the size of a USB thumb drive. This device is very heavy and well-made. The first couple of times that I pulled the legs apart, it was a bit stiff, but after a little use they click right into place. It fit perfectly on the bottom of my point-n-shoot samsung and tilts generously to accomodate tilted surfaces. However, if you have uneven surfaces, you want a gorillapod original.
