Rock Solid, but slightly long and heavy

  • Excerpt: This tripod is rock solid and very well built. However, when I opened the box it was longer and a little heavier than I expected. However, due to the stability of the tripod, I will take a litlte extra weight for the quality of the build. It has a nice carrying case and tool kit. If you're looking for a good all around tripod for a decent price, this is your tripod. However, if you're only looking for a travel tripod, this is not for you.
  • Pros: Good Stability
  • Cons: Heavy

Excellent Tripod

  • Excerpt: After too many years it was time to retire the Star-D Pro I bought in 1974 and a friend suggested this. Couldn't be more pleased. When I first used the tripod I extended the legs their entire length and the viewfinder was above eye level (I'm a tad over 6'). And I can lower the tripod almost to the ground with the legs extended straight out. This should last another 40 years.
  • Pros: Good Stability, Unfolds Quickly

  • Excerpt: I use this at home where I want the stability and don't need to portability of a small carbon fiber tripod. Solid, stable, and extends more than high enough for me without the center column. Good product and a good value. Probably not the right choice for a long hike but a great choice for stability if you don't have to carry it too far.
  • Pros: Good height, Good Stability
  • Cons: Portability

Awesome tripod, more than I imagined

  • Excerpt: Heavy duty, solid, and stable. I was initially looking at the AT413, but I am happy that I decided to go with this model instead. It weighs 5.8 lbs, which some say is a bit on the heavy side compared to CF legs, but for me I have not found it to be too heavy to this point. But then again, I have not yet gone on any long hikes with it yet, having only used it on a few short trips. I am impressed with the build quality and workmanship so far.
  • Pros: Stable
  • Cons: None Yet

I was impressed with the feel and attention to detail of this tripod. I feel confident that my equipment will not accidentally tip over or fall because of wind. Very satisfied .
