the best for travel

  • Summary: I had a manfrotto 3001BPRO for years and was happy with it, it served me well. Researched carbon fiber for over a year and finaly bought this one from B&H. At first I second guesed the cost but after using it on a photo trip through 6 national parks in Oct 08, I could not be more happy. PERFECT TRIPOD for travel. I shoot D300 and 17-55DX, and 80-200. Rock solid and very easy to use. Did I mention EASY to USE!!! Now save those pennies and buy it.
  • Pros: Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Rugged, Smooth Movement

An excellent tripod for that crazy angle

  • Summary: I wanted a tripod that could get me low to the ground, was quick and easy to set up, lightweight yet sturdy. The Gitzo Traveller meets all those requirements. The adjustable center column is very easy to adjust, fantastic for macro and close up work. I had a Manfrotto tripod with clip lock legs so was a bit apprehensive about the Explorers twist lock, found them to be a little bit slower but it did not take long to get used to them.
  • Pros: Easily Adjusted, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Rugged, Smooth Movement

Well worth the extra dollars

  • Summary: The good: Light and stable, extremely well built. Cuts vibration dramatically compared to my similar sized Aluminum Gitzo. Capable of getting your camera to just about any position - especially for macro work or shooting over walls or fences where using a wide lens would normally be impossible. The bad: Built in "leg spikes" would be nice and it's not cheap - but it's still worth it!
  • Pros: Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Rugged, Smooth Movement

My first and hopefully last great tripod

  • Summary: Using only premium Canon L lenses, I never had much use for tripods until I recently dove into long exposure shooting and my [$] Targus just wasn't giving me the support I needed. So after numerous calls to camera shops and posting after posting on online newsgroups, as well as my own research, I settled on the GT2541EX carbon fiber tripod, as well as the GH2750QR magnesium ballhead. WOW is all I can utter at the moment. When you lock it, it's locked.

  • Summary: I travel to Zoo's and Gardens via public transit. The weight and compact features of this tripod allows me to do this with very few limitations. It can hold your heaviest lens ( A Canon 400 mm lens. With no problem. I do prefer flip levers, but the twist levers on this tripod are excellent.
  • Pros: Easily Adjusted, Lightweight

  • Summary: This is a very flexible tripod, it is easy to use (locks are simple but very effective, when they are released the whole tripod is so free moving. Better for macro I think.

User Review

  • Conclusion: Suveränt stabilt och lättanvänt. Vattenpass i benkorset.
  • Pros: Lättöppnade låsanordningar. Stabilt och ändå lätt.
  • Cons: Inga - ännu
