Poorly Designed and Overpriced

  • Excerpt: I've had this tripod for about a year and a half now and it is in pretty bad shape. The stopper at the end of one leg fell off during a shoot, since I was in the forest, I was unable to find the stopper. Without this stopper dirt, sand, and water can freely get into my tripod leg threads.
  • Pros: Lightweight
  • Cons: Flimsy Construction

Outstanding tripod legs

  • Excerpt: I researched for quite awhile and everything pointed to this set of travel tripod legs if you want top of the line. They are very sturdy and amazingly light. Will fit easily in carryon luggage or on the side of a small camera bag.

Lightweight, strong, easy to use, works perfectly

  • Excerpt: Just used the GT1542T with an Arca-Swiss Monoball for slow shutter speed photography in Big Bend National Park and I couldn't be happier with the results. I shoot with a Canon 5D + 24-70mm L lens 90% of the time. The Gitzo / Arca Swiss is able to support this weight (~ 5 lbs.) from any position.

Great tripod, but not so great with center post removed

  • Excerpt: I do a lot of flower photography and this tripod has been great for hiking to the flowers with a heavy DSLR and Lens and taking pictures. The tripod is sturdy, lightweight, and has a nice option for shrinking its length for packing by folding the legs backward.
  • Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy to Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Usability Without Column

  • Excerpt: I use this for backpacking and it saves several pounds, compared to my older tripod. I have noticed that it is also steadier. The only thing not great is the price, but you get what you pay for.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Lightweight

Great Travel Tripod

  • Excerpt: This is an outstanding travel tripod. It also has an easy way to remove the center column for ground level shots, like flower macro. Expensive, but worth it. Don't cheap out and get an imitation....being able to remove the center column is something I've only seen with Gitzo.

  • Excerpt: I bought the GT1452T tripod to support a Kowa TSN-663 Spotting Scope for birding. I needed something very compact and lightweight to take along on my bike or when traveling. I am totally impressed by the build quality, ease of use, stability, and compactness/lightness of this tripod.
  • Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy to Use, Exquisite Quality, Lightweight
  • Cons: Expensive
