Excerpt: I own many of this little guys, they have everything you migh need in a QRP, they're the right size, very well built and it's a must if you want to switch to different support systems while doing video.
Pros: Attaches Firmly, Good Stability, Large Range of Motion
Excerpt: I was VERY happy to find that this works nicely with the Manfrotto 357 plates and adapters. Although this is a small clamp, it's surprisingly strong. I've mounted everything from a DSLR to a Red One on this and have had no concerns at all with strength. It actually seems to be built a little better than the other brand, but is more affordable.
Excerpt: The tension adjustment on the side has a design flaw. It is too big and sits below the base. This means you can't mount the plate to a large flat surface. Also, the position of the tension adjustment is too high and gets in the way of the device that is mounted.
Excerpt: I'm buying this extra plate for my backup body. This is one stout setup - holds my D700 with Battery Grip plus 80-200f/2.8D lens securely. The amount of 'slide' adjustment makes macro much easier. Very well thought out AND engineered. Took me a few tries to get accustomed to where everything is, but as with any new "toy" once you get used to it, you wonder how you ever lived without it.
Pros: Attaches Firmly, Good Stability, Large Range of Motion, Strong Clamp
