Not worth

Anthony P., Newegg
1 November 2012
  • Summary: Just spend the extra money and get a better tripod
  • Pros: Cheap, comes with a monopod.
  • Cons: It squaks, the tripod does not extend very high.

Great...if you want need a tripod set piece

Joel B., Newegg
27 September 2012
  • Summary: I wasn't expecting this to last long, and would have been more than pleased with it lasting a year...but it didn't. And based on the construction when I examined it, I can say it wasn't meant to. The hinges have a VERY small surface area, and are largely made of plastic..
  • Pros: Held my small videocamera...until it didn't.
  • Cons: As a primarily web-based reporter, I bought this to mount my FLIP Mino on so I can videotape press conferences without holding it still the entire time or mounting it on one of those asinine miniature mono- or tri-pods. I used it maybe once or twice a week for about three weeks...before it broke....

Cheap and OK

Gabriel G., Newegg
12 September 2012
  • Summary: Ignore the imperfection and enjoy what little cost could achieve.
  • Pros: Great price for a tripod and monopod combo. I'm not proffesional, for me this product is almost perefect. Spanish translate: Buen producto para el precio que tiene, incluye tripode y monopode con sus bolsos por separado, no soy profesional pero el producto hace bien su trabajo.
  • Cons: Plastic all around, plastic mount locks... (use with care) Spanish translate: Muchas partes de plástico, para que dure hay que usarlo con cuidado y poco peso.

Got Burned On This One

Jonathan R., Newegg
12 September 2012
  • Summary: Newegg doesn't pay the shipping to return an item, which is pretty standard. To ship a 9lb package across the US however, costs just over $18. The tripod cost $33. I could have the item replaced but then I would have paid $50 for an item that should have cost $33.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Shipped in a retail box that had clearly been re-taped. Monopod was missing. One of the supports re-enforcing a leg on the tripod had snapped and an O-ring near the bottom had split.

Great unit for price point.

Cale C., Newegg
5 September 2012
  • Summary: Overall this is a great unit for someone like me who's a beginner or novice..... You wont be disappointed at that price point. I have priced the monopod by itself for as much as I paid for this whole kit.
  • Pros: Product was as described. Came shipped in a new egg box that was kinda huge....but it was packed nicely with extra stuffing paper to assure it wasn't damaged. I wasn't expecting a high end unit, this works very good for my usage. No directions or instructions on set up... this is my first time ow...
  • Cons: Directions...Not sure how to optimally use the monopod, which I ordered this unit for, more directions on using the pivoting head. Cameras used with are Nikon 5700 @ 8700 which are not super heavy but with the head pivoting need the wing fasterner torqued tight, so tight Im affraid it might break.

Great Deal

Kenneth D., Newegg
11 May 2012
  • Summary: I purchased these as a gift along with a bicycle and the carrying cases were not listed and definitely an added plus so that my little sister (29 years old) could carry them easily on her off road bike excursions. Again, hat's off to NEWEGG!
  • Pros: Light weight yet has a hook to add sand bags for additional stability. Also the is free bonus. Also both the tripod and the mono-pod came with carrying cases with shoulder straps. For the price there is not a better deal! I purchased these as a gift to be shipped to a Texas and I live in Californ...
  • Cons: Not designed for professional use. Yet, I did not expect that as my professional heavy weight tripods cost more than most consumer and/or prosumer cameras.

Very disappointing

David M., Newegg
20 February 2012
  • Summary: Was shipped in the product box, thin cardboard never intended as a shipping container, and VERY poorly taped. Tripod either never was in box or someone with UPS now has a nice tripod. Did not just fall out as the box was taped to the point that the much thinner mono-pod could not fall out .
  • Pros: Have no clue as the tripod was missing from box when it arrived.
  • Cons: Altho returned for replacement RMA AND approved doubtful I'll ever see it as this product is now deactivated.

Wow!

Brian S., Newegg
26 October 2011
  • Summary: What a deal, even at full price, for a quality tripod set.
  • Pros: The tripod and monopod are both solid and come with carrying bags. The head of the tripod is particularly wide, making it a great base for large, heavy cameras, and giving it a smoother panning facility.
  • Cons: Newegg has no more in stock.
