decent tripod for the price

  • Excerpt: i needed a new tripod but didn't want to go all out since most of my photography involves birding and handheld lenses. i needed something for the other stuff though...especially astrophotography. this tripod fits all my needs completely. no it's not the fanciest or the best but for the price...if you need a tripod to get the job done this is a great option. would not recommend for long lenses with the tripod completely extended.

Acceptable for the price

  • Excerpt: The base plate swivel/tilt/rotate mechanism is made of a relatively heavy duty plasitc, we'll so how it will hold up. It supports my D3100 with telephoto with no problems. It folds up nice and compact as well which is nice for hikes.

Good tripod

  • Excerpt: Sturdy tripod, however it seems to very slightly droop down when I have my Nikon D7100 with my heaviest, 18-105mm lens on it. I haven't played with it as much as I would have liked to yet, so there might be a way to tighten it to lessen the problem. It does keep the camera still and has helped me get some clear low light photos. Overall it's a great tripod for the price.

  • Excerpt: This is my very first tripod. Very stable and I and fully satisfied with the tripod. It is amazingly lightweight and folds small. A really nice touch on this tripod is the foam padded legs.

Well worth the money.

  • Excerpt: I mainly use the tripod with my DSLR. It's heavy duty enough to support the 300mm telephoto lens, yet light enough to carry around all day. My last tripod had a ball head & turned out to be a huge disappointment.
  • Pros: Folds Small, Good Stability, Lightweight, Unfolds Quickly
  • Cons: No Complaints
