Summary: This is a good Speedlite, solid, and works well. It is as good as a Cannon, minus the ttl. So it is manual, but if you can work around it you will save a bundle on the price. I paid the same as a regular flash unit runs here in town (with no remote). You will not be disappointed with buying one of these, especially if you are on a budget. Also it is very easy to use. Setting to adjust the zoom and brightness of flash are easy to get at and quick to adjust.
Pros: Delivery was fast. Nice speedlite. Cost the same as a regular flash at the store. This is a nice high quality piece of equipment. Works exactly like it says with my Cannon DSLR.
Summary: Let me start this review off simply. BUY THIS. Is it as good as the more expensive alternative? It very, very, very nearly is. It's the right price, it has surprisingly good build quality, excellent recycle time (better than my Canon), and consistent results.
Pros: Surprising build quality, excellent recycle time, very easy to use.
Cons: No ETTL, doesn't say "Canon" across the front.
Summary: Just a great, simple camera flash with some good features.
Pros: It does what it's supposed to do. I'm not bothered in the least by the manual settings. It gives me more control over the end result anyway. It takes some getting used to, but after several test shots I was easily able to use the metering, make the settings and shoot.
Cons: It doesn't have TTL, but then for the price one can't expect such luxuries. Again, I generally prefer manual settings. The owner's manual is scant, only giving what the features are without any explanation. It's Chinese, but I'm not entirely certain that's a "con".
Summary: I wouldn't recommend this for club photography. It sucks because thats what I needed a flash for and it definitely isn't ideal. There's a lot of settings you have to put in manually that waste lots of time when people immediately want their pictures taken. I can't give it a bad review though, it it a good flash for what it is, I just expected a little more.
