Using Sunpak for 30 + years

Denny, B&H Photo
8 May 2014
  • Excerpt: Thirty some years ago, Sunpak had a great little feature, the "Thyrister" which would automatically switch off when the subject had received enough light for the picture. Today with not only the thyrister, but coupled with the TTL feature, it's simply fantastic. i can't say enough GOOD about it. I really don't see the need to buy a Nikon Flash for your Nikon camera when the Sunpak will do the same thing, and for hundreds less. I love Sunpak... D. Swenson Ft.

  • Excerpt: I bought this product because I took a class to help with on-camera shoe-flash. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Straight out of the box, I followed the class instructions and the shots were beautiful. You can't ask for more based on the price.

Sunpak PZ42X TTL Shoe Mount Flash

Marty, B&H Photo
31 January 2014
  • Excerpt: I am photo enthusiast. I use a Canon 60D. Most of my photos are of landscapes, with very little requirement for flash. I do occasionally take family photos. Since I am not a heavy user of flash, I felt that I did not need to incur the extra expense for a the purchase of a Canon flash. I have been more than pleased with the quality, features, and ease of operation of the Sunpak PZ42X TTL Shoe Mount Flash. The recycle time for me is more than adequate.

Very Satisfied

Bob in NY, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Very happy with this flash. I bought this to replace my Sigma that died and I am glad I bought the Sunpak. Even at 30 feet, the recycle time is between instant and a half a second, and that was with 3 year old NiMH batteries. My camera is a Canon Dital XTi and the Sunpak seems more tollerant to distance and takes correctly exposed shots from 10 feet and upwards. With my old Sigma I was constantly adjusting the camera flash EV for close up and bounce flash shots.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Powerful Output, Versatile
