A great flash.

  • Excerpt: Great flash. Good power/size trade off and lakes for a natural looking fit on the A7. In short performs as expected and is as or more consistent that any flash I owned over three systems (Olymnpus, Nikon, and Samsung).
  • Pros: Compact, Easy to Use, Lightweight

  • Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Lightweight

  • Excerpt: A great companion to a Sony A7M2. This strobe fits the bill with it's compact size. I used it recently while traveling to Hawaii for a friend's wedding. It proved effective indoors when paired with a Lightsphere to act as a fill during daytime and at night with dim lighting.
  • Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Lightweight
  • Cons: Battery life, Poor Battery Life

5 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I was not going to purchase a flash because of my interest in natural lighting. But, this flash is designed to complement the Sony A 7 system. Sony HVL-F43AM review by Beachrider

Beachrider, slrgear.com
17 May 2011
  • Summary: I hadn't purchased a new hotshoe flash since the very-olde Minolta 5200i. I am pleased with the significant uptick in function. Surprised to find it on a rumors website and not in B&H. It is a nice addition, though.
  • Pros: Lightness, movable flash head, radio control w/ a700, depth function, weatherseals, ultrawide capability.
  • Cons: A little pricey, given GN=43 and cost
