Logics, Adorama
29 April 2015
  • Excerpt: ...and it was BRIGHT! Does all the things the Pentax AF-540FGZ deos and almost all the things as the AF-540FGZ II does but slightly brighter and lower cost. Great Flash

11 January 2015
  • Excerpt: The missing star has nothing to do with the flash. It is works with my K3 just as I expected. My only issue is with the documentation/manual. It took me about 4 hours to figure out how to make this flash work off camera.

  • Excerpt: Works as well as my SB700. Didn't come with a diffuser like the Nikon, but it did come with a nice case and great instructions.

1 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I'm still experimenting and learning how to use it. However, its been very easy and intuitive to use. I read review from prior buyers and found mostly positive feedback, the only negative I read was about difficulty to read the batteries position sign, which I had no problem reading.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Powerful Output

Fantastic value for the price

  • Excerpt: I own Nikon strobes and have had the top of the line Sony on camera flash which cost $ when I purchased it about 2 years ago. This flash unit has all the movements of the much pricier Sony and is very powerful. Recycle time is quite fast. It appears solidly made as well.

Not for TTL

Sweet July, B&H Photo
4 December 2014
  • Excerpt: Seems well made, but the sensor on the TTL is not good at all. Even with exposure compensation to (-3) on the flash and (-4) on my camera, the pictures were blown out. The first one I got also did not adjust for my focal length.
  • Pros: Powerful Output

  • Excerpt: As my first off camera flash this one is great. Easy to understand and not a huge learning curve. Quick recovery time in my opinion.
