Excerpt: Bought this ring flash to use for clinical dentistry. I also use it for my macro photography of flowers. It is unbelievable. Much different than the other cheaper LED third party manufacturers. Great exposure every time. Very consistent. Also capable of stopping up or donw on the left and right. Excellent buy for thos serious about macro photography.
Excerpt: I use this flash for my close up macro photography when I use my 50 mm and 100 mm Pentax lenses. It is a great ring flash with several features that you will not find on the less expensive 3rd party manufactures ring flash model. I have no negative comments about this flash.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Powerful Output, Versatile
Excerpt: Use this on several macro lenses, very good lighting. Nice modeling lights for dim locations. Excellent P-TTL performance, and good battery life. Hot shoe adapters are available to use it on other brand bodies. Very well built, comes with several lens adapters and storage case.
Excerpt: I have needed a product that can fill in shadows, but not overwhelm the overall picture. This flash give me exactly what I need for my portrait and plant pictures, especially on over cast days. By having this flash, my digital camera ASA setting can be 200 so I can enlarge details. Since I use Pentax, this flash also provides a very comfortable interface, even though the cord looks a little funky when you first pull it out.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easy To Use, Versatile
Excerpt: I am using the ring flash with the Pentax 35 mm macro lens. It has tremendously improved my macro shots by removing shadows and giving even lighting. I like having several adjustments for light intensity both through the automatic and manual modes. It is easy to use. I highly recommend this product.
Excerpt: For the price cant ask for more. I use it almost solely with DA 16-45 on *ist DL. With the on camera flash you get that 1/2 moon of darkness from the lens sticking out on the 16/45 this flash fixes that for me and is light.
Excerpt: I use this flash primarily for photographing honey bees and other insects, but it's great for all types of macro photography and portraits. I preferred the coil cable on my old af080c. This one is a little stiff and bulky, but hopefully that means it will be very durable.I also like the fact that it has multiple manual power settings,an led lights for previewing and focusing aid, and multiple adapters. To sum it up, this flash has it all.
Pros: Attach Securely, Can be hand held, Durable, Good Color Value, Powerful
Excerpt: Great macro tool. Gives you the ability to obtain required dof when shooting macro. Integrated with dfa wr and non wr lenes, allowing it to mount to the dfa lens barrel rather then the filter ring on tip of lens, less stress. For non pentax dfa lenses the flash has adapters for other filter ring sizes.
Excerpt: Somewhat bulky, with stiff cable and box of adapters, but worth it for the even lighting and simple controls. Like others, I played with LEDs and other lights, but finally got this flash to do better macro photography of small organisms.
Excerpt: I bought this flash just recently. I have not taken 'real' macro photos yet, because it is still early April here in Montreal and there are no flowers or insects yet. However, I did a few tests at home and I can say that this is a very effective tool. I like the separate semi-circular elements with 5-position switch providing full light on both segments , 3: 1 or 1: 3 ratio, and full: 0 or 0: full combinations.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Soft diffused light, Versatile
