Excerpt: Good flash unit. Have had for a month or so. HOWEVER, on a recent trip the flash sheared right off the camera while in the trunk of my rent a car. Minimal load placed on hot shoe. Took back to place of purchase, they would not replace, have sent back to Olympus for warranty or repair.
Excerpt: Basic design and quality okay except the mounting shoe and the battery door - mounting shoes should all be metal these days. The interface is quite good (albeit the fonts are small). Reasonably easy to use given the excellent camera touch screen interface.
Pros: Consistent Output, Control Interface, Lightweight
Cons: Batter Door, Mount Shoe Plastic, No Power-pack Input, Poor Radio Interface, Tiny Fonts, Weak Output
Excerpt: Compared to the FL-50r flash I also have, the FL-600r is only half the size, but still puts out a lot of light. It is the right size to fit on my OM-D camera. I would give this 5 stars except they have packed too many functions into a too small control wheel.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Powerful Output, Versatile
Excerpt: My primary use for this flash is as an on camera bounce. It is full featured yet small and pairs well with the Olympus OMD series cameras including the E-M10. The catch light plate is too small to be useful, but that can be easily remedied with a DIY solution or flash accessories.
Excerpt: The flash is of very good build quality and is quite powerful for its small size. I have one issue with this flash, and that's when it's used for TTL. The small video light on the front below the main light blinks off and on.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Powerful Output
Excerpt: Nice unit. I have only used it to take family snaps over christmas so far, but it seems to be working as advertised. I am coming over to Olympus from Canon and their flash system isn't as refined. Finding out how to use all of the features isn't easy as the Manual isn't very informative.
Excerpt: I was pleasantly surprised at how good this flash is and how easy it is to set up wirelessly.Being new to 4/3 mirrorless and having a DSLR I was hesitant. Just as happy and even more so with how much easier it is to use and set up.
Excerpt: This flash unit works great and has increments for increasing the output. I will be using it directly on the camera, so I can't comment on its wireless capabilities. The manual is virtually worthless, though. I had to do a lot of trial and error to figure out how to operate the unit.
Excerpt: Wonderful performing flash unit on an Olympus Micro Four Thirds camera. Exposures are accurate. I have used it for macro work as a slave unit, and on the camera with models, with flawless exposures. Control take some figuring out, but pretty intuitive in a short time.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Versatile
