Summary: It works fine with my canon 7d camera both mounted and wireless. Definitely worth the money and saving a hundred of dollars at least. The only disadvantage I have met so far is the noise it makes but as soon as you get used to it, it works just fine.
Summary: After deciding I need a flash for my 50D, I decided on the Speedlite 430EX II. However, I decided to do some research first and I'm glad I did. I'm semi-pro and I'm still learning about lighting, but I've been very surprised by this Nissin. The LCD screen is very easy to use and the operation is great. The swivel and tilt are solid and the unit feels very sturdy. It is a little loud when charging, but no big deal to me. I don't even notice it now.
Summary: Yep, flash was ok until the tube broke mysteriously. Tried to contact Nissin in HK to sort it out. Not under warranty as tube broke .Wouldn't send a replacement tube. Wanted me to get it repaired by Kenro in the UK who wanted to charge me a phenomenal amount of cash.Wish I'd never bought it. Ok until something goes wrong and you need customer service !!!!! Don't waste your money.
Summary: While this flash sounded perfect - just like the Canon 580II but at half the price - it just didn't work out. I actually went through two of these flashes, hoping the first was just a lemon (it arrived DOA). The second one worked for about 2 weeks and then quit firing. Even when it did work, I wasn't very happy with it as it was pretty temperamental, and it never did seem to work properly. Too bad Nissin missed on this one.
Summary: This product provides good value for the money. It performs well and seems to be well made. It is very adjustable in flash angles and power and operataing function. The front subflash is very strong and a defuser (frosted cellophane tape) helps reduce its overpowering effect when using the flash in bounce mode. It is still a great deal. This is comparable to more expensive flashes. Check manufacturers site for more info and instructions.
Summary: I was thinking to buy a Cannon 580EX or Nissin DI686, so for the price difference and specs I took the decision to buy this flash. It is a good flash: fast, solid and works good with my cannon 450D as main flash and also works good with 430EXII (430EXII as slave and Nissin as master)
Summary: I have used many of the older nissin hammer head flashes in the past and they have served me well, so in looking for a 2nd flash this unit looked promising and knowing nissin ( from 10 years ago ) I thought I would give it a try. So far it has worked well in just testing it but this weekend I have a wedding and that will show if it is up to the task for real pro use, no worries I still have the 580 and a spare metz 48 just in case.
