This saved me to buy a new flash

Martin Dubeau, B&H Photo
3 December 2012
  • Excerpt: I was happy to find this part even if my flash dates back to the early 90's. I have a Metz 36 CT2, and it is still working fine. I cannot use the TTL mode but at least I can use this flash.

New life for old 54MZ flashes

Jim K, B&H Photo
9 February 2010
  • Excerpt: The older 54 series shoe mount flashes (54MZ3 and 54MZ4) can be had for a steal on the used market. Slap a standard show on the flash and it'll work as a great off camera flash--very powerful and configurable. The standard shoe also allows for very effective on camera operation in either manual or auto mode. Great deal to provide that flexibility and functionality. The only improvement would be the strength of the shoe mount.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Reliable
  • Cons: Weak Construction

Just what I needed

Rob Domaschuk, B&H Photo
13 October 2009
  • Excerpt: I'm a Sony owner/user and wanted to use my Metz flash head off camera with a wireless receiver and, therefore, needed a foot with a standard ISO fitting. This shoe adapter worked perfectly for this My only criticism is that the adapter is slightly narrower than the bottom of my flash, so there is about a 1/8" gap after it locks into place and you can see the circuit board. I'd be far more concerned if I were going to permanently leave this adapter on my flash head.
  • Pros: Easy To Pack, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Works as Advertised

Steve Rogers, B&H Photo
4 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Used to allow 45 CL-4 to work in auto thyristor mode on Canon 5dII. Although it does not allow ETTL operation, the automatic operation works fine.
  • Pros: Convenient Interface, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Reliable, Strong Construction
