Well made flash

Paul in CT, B&H Photo
12 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I use this flash on my Sony NEX 7 and it complements the camera very well. The size and mass do not overwhelm the small camera. It's a powerful enough flash for it's size. The flash can be adjusted to narrow the flash disbursement or widen it as necessary. It is not adjustable, but for a simple flash it does the job.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Powerful Output

  • Excerpt: excellent powerful flash at a very reasonable price. I like it because it's much stronger than the pop up flash, and not as large as some other flashes that I've seen.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Lightweight, Powerful Output
  • Cons: Too Bright When Close

A Step Up from the built-in flash

Adorama
11 December 2013
  • Excerpt: I purchased the Metz made for the Sony Nex line of cameras. The Nex 5r and Nex 7 have small flashes which will suffice for fairly close fill flash, but are not sufficient for more distance shooting. This works well for group shots indoors. The vertical adjustment allows for bounce lite shots off the ceiling.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Powerful Output
  • Cons: No horizontal swivel

Don't settle for less than Metz!

Scott, B&H Photo
9 August 2013
  • Excerpt: So I called the superstore about getting a lower quality flash because of money and the usage (back yard portraits, indoor family, etc.) and the response was..."does Metz have anything in your price range." Thank you very much for the advice. This flash is very good and useful. I used it the first day I received it, outside, with great results. Then, later that night in a poorly lit room with my Nikon 50mm f1.4g and bam. Amazing results.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Keep On Camera Size, Lightweight, Powerful Output
