Excerpt: I wanted a good, reliable, basic flash to go with my Canon T3 for general photography. Not having any real "hands on" experiance with recent flashes I choose the Metz as I was familiar with the name and reputation. I haven't had a chance to try and get creative with it but taking test shots I have to say that the flash works well and is an excellent match for the T3.
Excerpt: I use this with my Panasonic LX7 and it's just the right size. It works as advertised - functionalities like TTL flash, flash exposure compensation, 2nd curtain sync all work when set through the camera. The one thing that surprised me is the red AF assist unit in front of the flash does NOT work with my LX7. The camera continues to rely on its own built-in AF assist light instead.
Excerpt: I want to ask a question: when using the Metz 24 AF at 28 mm focal lenght (with an E-PL3 or XZ-1 for example), it will produce a dark frame around the picture? Asking this because it's designed to work at 35 mm, not at 28 mm focal lenght...
Excerpt: I like this product because it was fairly inexpensive and it works well with my Olympus camera. It charges quickly and can be used with rapid sequence shooting. It also is better than my flash that is on my camera because it eliminates shadows. The only problem I have with it was that all instructions included with flash were in German and its not fully functional with my camera. But for the price & quality, it works great!
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easy To Use, Fast Recycling, Lightweight
Excerpt: I wanted a small flash to compliment my Olympus E-PL2 camera system, the Metz 24AF-1 fills the role nicely. I have used it for general photography, portaiture and close ups, with excellent results. The bounce feature is also surprisingly good, the flash has more power than it's small size would suggest. All in all, an excellent product.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
