Question: 580EX II does it have an analog and digital version?

I was told there were two different versions of the Canon 580EX II, a digital version and an analog version, and that the digital version was better and more expensive. I had never heard this and quite honestly think its a load of cr**. Is this true? Are there really two versions made and why would Canon make two versions unless one was older? TEC
