Good Value

Roland, B&H Photo
19 February 2009
  • Summary: Only gave it 4 stars because it is not built like the cannon. However it is a 5 star for the value. Does what I needed in a flash at a very good price point. I also added a diffuser which helps. You can purchase a hotshoe cord to take the flash off the camera.
  • Pros: Great Value
  • Cons: Cheap build quality

  • Summary: Its pretty easy to use. Just make sure you have new batteries in it for a continuous flash. I would recommend this product to someone who is looking to have better pictures and that is just starting out in photography.
  • Pros: Easy
  • Cons: Not fully automatic

A lot of Flash for the money

CSAman, B&H Photo
26 January 2009
  • Summary: I originally purchased the The Bower sfd35c as a cheep add-on. However I was very happily surprised by the quality and power of the unit. I shoot a lot of our kids indoor sports, and have found the Bower up to the task of reaching across the court for great stop action shots. There are not a lot of manual controls but the E-TTL works so well I have not missed them at all.
  • Pros: Good Value, Pan tilt zoom, Strong basic capabilities
  • Cons: Limited controles

Wouldnt Sync with XSI

pkmedeiros79, B&H Photo
15 January 2009
  • Summary: I bought this trying to save a couple of dollars and I guess I should have expected what I got. The reviews were great but when I hooked it up to my XSI it would not sync with the shutter no matter how fast or slow i set the shutter speed. It fired every time and recovered quickly but it just didnt produce any light on the picture.
  • Pros: Quick recycle time
  • Cons: Didnt work on my XSI, Low Quality
