Summary: Firstly getting this lens was a bit of a hassle. The lens was available at a very competitive price from Amazon, but the adaptor (also available at a VERY competitive price on Amazon) could not be posted to my address (reasons not understood). Australian suppliers could send me the adaptor at a not very competitive price but said the lens was no longer in production. I had to buy the adaptor from australia and the lens from Amazon.
Excerpt: Adds extra magnification for close-up shots. Gives macro magnification without being right on top of the subject. Easy to use. Love it! Excellent quality photos. Great for flower and butterfly close-up photography.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: The lens was made by the manufacturer for the camera. It is a perfect fit and works very nicely. Gee, I wonder why? Well it was made by the people that made the camera and it was made for the camera. I can get some very close photos with this lens without crowding the subject and blocking the light. Just gotta get used to how it works compared to macro mode. But it gets right in there and nice, sharp pics.
Summary: This was my 1st purchase, the lens showed the segments of the tile in my kitchen, which are impossible to see. Its 0.7X magnification is but would like the Raynox MSN 202 (5.5 X magnification) or MSN 505 (8.8 X magnification) which are much more powerful, for a similar price. The lens is full (heavy) and gives a sense of being very well built.
Excerpt: i like the cabability of the flower, bee, assorted insect close ups. not everyones cup of tea but i like it. the use of the adapter can slow the process down but can quickly swich to the lt55 telephoto lense. if you are looking for a frame filling close up it works well. also inexpensive.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
