Excerpt: Not much to review about a filter. This is a great filter, optically perfect, slim, no vignette. It seems that there is some discussion about whether or not to use a filter to protect a lens. Is the protection worth some interference by another piece of glass in between the sensor and the subject? In my experience, heck yeah. Why do you think I'm replacing this filter. A scratch on a $ dollar filter or a scratch on the surface of an 80-400. No question for me.
Pros: Clear Optics, Consistent Effect, Easily Mounted, Firm Mount, Saved A 80-400 Lens, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I use it as lens protector for my 7-200/f2.8 Nikon zoom lens, and effects on lens and pictures are negligible. A bit more expansive than other brands, but I do not want to put any other filters on my prime lens rather than Nikon.
Excerpt: I put one on each of my new lenses, Nikon 10-24 DX and Nikon 24-70 f2.8. I have been shooting each for a few weeks now and the results are excellent, they do not interfere with the fine optics they are installed on. If you want protection for your expensive Nikon lenses I think this is the way to go. Others have mentioned that you have to be careful to not cross thread them, that is true, so do take care when you install them.
