Summary: I bought this filter a few days after I bought my 70-200mm 2.8 nikkor. I HAD to protect my main element. I wanted one that would retain the sharpness and clarity of the godly lens I purchased, luckily this filter did exactly that. GREAT PURCHASE!
Summary: Besides protecting my new lens....I really like this Hoya UV filter. It, well, filters. You can see some difference , especially on a hazy day (we have lots of those here). It has a solid feel when you thread it on, and I feel, minimum negative effect on my pictures. I feel good about this product on my camera, and wouldn't go without it.
Pros: Fits and feels solid, Multi-coating, No negatives seen yet, Price was right
Summary: I purchased this UV filter for a new Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens, primarily for protection. I considered the additional expense reasonable so as not to noticeably reduce IQ. Thus far I have only needed to remove rain drops from the filter, but a basic lens tissue worked better than on any other filter I own. I am pleased with the multi-coat system to date.
