Good for Low Flare

Ben Jobe, B&H Photo
6 March 2013
  • Excerpt: I use this filter on all my lenses to protect their glass and to minimize sun flare. The multi-coat really helps with flare and reflections in my experience. Also, I've never had problems with these filters getting stuck on the lens, but FYI I heard that running a pencil point on the threads before application can lubricate them to prevent this from happening as well.

  • Excerpt: The Hoya Super HMC is a high quality multicoated filter for protection. Some will disagree in using filters and go by the hood only, I have a toddler and every protection I can use helps some.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Reasonably Priced
