Excerpt: I've purchased Hoya Pro 1s for all 9 Canon lenses, so I don't have to stop, find the size needed, or which lens on which I last used the filter. These are great UV/haze filters, and add a layer of protection over the lens glass. Hoya products perform as well as, or better than most others, and are affordable! You can pay more, but you won't get better.
Excerpt: I bought this for my Canon 70-200 IS L lens. It does its job protecting the lens glass. Appears to be mostly free from distortions in the images. I have heard some say Hoya doesn't mount securely, but this fits very snug and doesn't come lose on its own.
Excerpt: I use this on my Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4 EX DG lens which is prone to vignetting if the filter frame is too thick. No such problems with the ultra thin frame of this filter. Thin but strong - screws in smoothly but firmly. Very good optics as I've come to expect from Hoya!
Pros: Clear Optics, Easily Mounted, Firm Mount, Strong Construction
Excerpt: Buy Hoya filters for all my lenses. I have been very happy with them, no problems. This is my first purchase of this exact one, and it feels solid. Seems to do the job well. I will purchase this filter for any future lenses. Screws on easily to my lens and fits tightly.
