The Hoya XD77UV 77 mm uv filter, a very practical photo equipment addition.

Summary: The Hoya XD77UV 77mm uv filter makes a good addition to any photo enthusiast/professional photographers equipment. 1st as a high quality uv filter and 2nd as a lens protector for my expensive wide angle lens.
Summary: I put this on my new Sigma 70-200 EX II HSM lens and love it. The thin design makes it look as if nothing has been added to the lens. The clartity is excellent and remove all glare from my shots. I shot pictures of ducks on a pond and was amazed as at first impression it looks as if I used a polarizer to remove glare when all I used was this UV. Very nice addition to my camera bag.
Pros: Clear Optics, Firm Mount, Strong Construction, Very pro look and feel
Summary: I use these filters to protect the front elements of all of my lenses. They keep dust and spatter away from the finely coated surface and it is never necessary to touch the surfaces of the lens in order to ensure clear optics. Recently, the filter received a blow that cracked it in may places, but the image stabilizing wide angle zoom lens was not harmed in any way. Without the filter the lens would have been rendered useless.
Pros: Clear Optics, Easy To Use, Firm Mount, Strong Construction
Summary: There are many filters to select from on the market, most of which I have not tried. I thought that l would trust the praise over this filter and chose it to protect my valuable lenses. So far I'm very pleased with my choice since I saved money over other more expensive brands and I've not encountered any light problems as a result of using them. It's as if they aren't there at all.
Pros: Clear Optics, Firm Mount, Strong Construction
