Excellent performance

Spanavision, B&H Photo
4 July 2014
  • Excerpt: The build quality of this Nikon battery pack is far superior to third party brands of this type. Heavy duty and professional, this battery pack doubles battery life, and allows for vertical photography with ease. High price, but worth the piece of mind that the product will work on command.
  • Pros: Reliable, Solid Construction
  • Cons: Expensive

  • Excerpt: Bought this for my D7000 not so much for the extra battery back up but more for the convenience of shooting vertical. Seem well constructed and installation was easy.
  • Pros: Easy to Install, Solid Construction
  • Cons: Adds Substantial Weight

Works fine, gives extra power security

  • Excerpt: The MB-D11 Nikon battery pack holds one EL15 lithium ion battery for the Nikon D7000 body so that you can have two fully charged batteries on board the camera. The Battery Pack also comes with a slide in holder for 6 AA batteries but I'd not expect to get the same amount of power from them as an EN-EL15 Li-Ion battery. The MB-D11 also can double as a convenient portrait mode grip with main dial, and AE-L/AF-L, and quick dial controls.
  • Pros: Easy to Install, Fast Recharge, Long-Lasting, Reliable, Solid Construction

Power Sources For D7000

FrankJunior1, Adorama
22 January 2014
  • Excerpt: I have owned the Nikon D7000 for over 3 years now. From my experience with this camera I find that it is a well designed camera with the exception of when powering the camera with the AC adapter. Any one who has purchased the EH-5b AC adapter and the required EP-5b cord, both sold separately, should know what I am discussing here. This is an incredibly flawed design for such a great camera. Nikon followed this flawed design with the MB-D11 battery grip.

Works Great

  • Excerpt: I bought this to use for shooting my children's soccer games. I shoot mostly in Portrait so it helps a lot when holding that position for most of the game. I'm also able to change settings faster because of the dials on the grip. I'm using this with a mono pod and a below average 500mm Zoom Sigma Lens. It balances nicely with the weight of the grip added to my D7000.

Picture Perfect Portrait Mode

Jazz Fan Jeff, B&H Photo
29 July 2013
  • Excerpt: I bought 2 of these, one for each of myD7000 bodies. Besides extended battery power, and the AAA battery option, this grip makes vertical (portrait orientation) shots MUCH easier and more comfortable, especially when shooting with a long heavy lens. My only beef is that it is kind of pricey, but I tried a cheaper 3rd party grip before and it was defective. Now I stick to OEM equipment only. I do wish it bayoneted on, rather than screwed in, though.
  • Pros: Easy to Install, Solid Construction
  • Cons: Wish For Bayonet Mount

Every D7000 user should have one

John Milton, Adorama
16 July 2013
  • Excerpt: Despite the size and added weight the Nikon MB-D11 adds a feeeling of stability and a confortable grip. Being able to use the regular battery plus the AA batteries takes the worry out of those long sessions. The unit attaches to the camera easily and the setup through the menu is a snap. I highly recommend this unit to any D7000 user who wants more backup power in an easy to use product.
  • Pros: Easy to Install, Long-Lasting, Reliable, Solid Construction
  • Cons: Bulky

Expensive..but worth the extra

Kelvin, Adorama
16 July 2013
  • Excerpt: I bought the grip not for more battery power, but mainly because I have large hands and it makes a huge difference to the comfort of using the D7000. I would note that the grip is built like a tank, inspires confidence and now that I have used it for a while, I also find the vertical AEL, Command dials and shutter release to be very helpful....My only complaint is that it is made in China - this item costs 3 times the price of non OEM products..

BATTERY NOT INCLUDED

doubledownphotos, Adorama
21 May 2013
  • Excerpt: so far this seems like a great addition to my camera. I was surprised when I recieved the unit that there was no battery included.I was pretty much under the impression that I was ordering a battery grip and that it would have a battery. No where did I see that you need to spend another $60.00 for a battery. not a big deal but that is what I experience.
