Well made extra power if you need it

 • Excerpt: Bought this for my D7000 not so much for the extra battery back up but more for the convenience of shooting vertical. Seem well constructed and installation was easy.
 • Pros: Easy to Install, Solid Construction
 • Cons: Adds Substantial Weight

Works fine, gives extra power security

Captain Bob, B&H Photo
7 March 2014
 • Excerpt: The MB-D11 Nikon battery pack holds one EL15 lithium ion battery for the Nikon D7000 body so that you can have two fully charged batteries on board the camera. The Battery Pack also comes with a slide in holder for 6 AA batteries but I'd not expect to get the same amount of power from them as an EN-EL15 Li-Ion battery.

The MB-D11 also can double as a convenient portrait mode grip with main dial, and AE-L/AF-L, and quick dial controls.
 • Pros: Easy to Install, Fast Recharge, Long-Lasting, Reliable, Solid Construction

Awesome Addition to my Nikon!

 • Excerpt: This battery grip is amazing! I love the added "hand" real estate this grip offers when shooting. It just makes the camera feel extremely nice in the hand. I also love the functionality of the buttons as well as the sliding dial that locks the grip to the camera. None of the dials are too lose or too tight, they are just right. It gives you the option to use a second rechargeable camera battery or regular batteries or no batteries.

Nikon MB-D11 Battery Grip

Adorama
18 February 2014
 • Excerpt: I made this purchase after reading as many reviews of after-market grips as I could find. The big complaint on the Nikon was price. There was one that was flawed, but returned for replacement.

I like it well enough to buy another one. I have two D-7K's, and like the feel of it with the grip. It makes the camera feel more robust, the vertical hold is very comfortable, and the added weight is more than acceptable.

A Very Welcome Addition

Mountain William, B&H Photo
20 January 2014
 • Excerpt: I wish that I had purchased this component when I bought my camera a couple years ago. It has given me better control of the camera with all types of lenses. Fit and finish are superb without any sign of wiggle or play with the connection to the body.

The only design feature that causes a little pause, and I'm not sure there is a way around this, is my quick-connect plate for my Manfroto tripod.

Should have bought when I got my D7000

Big G, Adorama
15 January 2014
 • Excerpt: Just got my MB-D11 and it's transformed my camera. The added battery life is a clear bonus but apart from the more comfortable portrait shooting mode, it stabilizes heavy lenses such as Nikon 105mm f2.8 Micro VR (750 grams = 28 oz) and Tokina 11 - 16mm f2.8 (547 grams = 19 oz) and makes hand holding either in landscape or portrait mode a lot more stable.
