Excerpt: The BG-E7 Battery Grip works great when I know I won't have time to recharge at a wedding. I have yet to need to, but if both batteries lost charge, I can replace them with 8 AA's. Also, it's easy to get on and off quickly. I recommend keeping the plastic covering in a safe place to put back on when storing.
Excerpt: A must for vertical or transitonal shots. The grip fits perfectly to the body and offers superb control/feel. Shoulder strap mounts perfectly to the grip as well. Zero complaints thus far. I wish my grip arrived in time for Frankenmuth's Snowfest the need for vertical shooting (with limited distance from subjects would have been great) alas mine arrived a few days late.
Excerpt: The Canon Battery Grip BG-E7 is a must have for photographers who shoot a lot of portrait shots. It makes handling the camera much more comfortable. The Canon branded grip is much higher quality than off-branded grips that I've owned in the past. This grip allows you to register both inserted batteries to your EOS-7D so you can keep track of their power percentages separately. I will not list the weight as a con as I prefer a heavier camera.
Pros: Easy To Install, Good Value, Long-Lasting, Reliable
Excerpt: I had an off-brand grip that I'd been using for a few years...got it with my 7D and then it broke. I realized right away how handy the grip is for shooting portrait and just not having to worry about running out of juice. I also like the optional AA battery cartridge just in case I'm in a bind somewhere. The non-Canon grip I had before wouldn't read properly with some batteries, but this Canon one is AWESOME.
Pros: Easy To Install, Good Value, Lightweight, Long-Lasting, Reliable
Excerpt: This grip balances the 7D very nicely. I recently decided that it was an essential tool for me to shoot with because my shoulder/arm movement is severely limited. When I need to take a vertical shot I simply rotate the body and the grip shutter position remains in the same position as the horizontal format.
Excerpt: BG-E7 = the missing piece of the puzzle. This addition to my EOS 7D balances heavy lenses & gives a me a relaxed grip. Although I had to Google the mystery of how to attach the 80-200mm lens (the the quick release plate gimmick is attached to the lens' ring.) By turning it sideways I was able to attach to the tri & mono pods. Vertical shots are sharper using the battery grip shutter button than with cable release...
Pros: Creates Natural Grip, Easy To Install, Good Value, Reliable
