Movie download must have

Kathi, B&H Photo
25 March 2013
  • Excerpt: Used to connect SONY camcorder to external hard drive/flash drive. Would be nice to have as an included item with the camcorder. Also, SONY told me it wouldn't work with a flash drive, but IT DOES!

Perfect for video transfer to hard drive

Herrera, B&H Photo
12 February 2012
  • Excerpt: If you own the a sony camcorder and wish to use the Direct to Hard drive feature you need one of thse cables. Using a non-sony cable will NOT work. This cable makes it possible to transfer your videos from the camcorder to an external hard drive WITHOUT the need of a computer. It's perfect for vacations. Instead of taking a laptop to transfer your videos off the camera you only need to take an external hard drive with you.

This is the ONLY cable that will work

fUzZy pHoTo ©, B&H Photo
23 November 2011
  • Excerpt: For your Sony Camcorder, don't buy one off of the auction site as a "look-alike" as it wont work. No idea what is different, but the Sony cable is the only one that will work! Trusted buyer on B&H, great processing and shipping!
  • Cons: A little pricey but fair

a MUST Have for Sony HDR-CX110

Mal the C, B&H Photo
15 November 2011
  • Excerpt: No PC needed for USB storage DIRECT from camcorder. I had to get a 3rd party partitioning program to get a FAT32 1.5TB partition on my Seagate portable USB HDD. Windows will not go above 32GB for FAT32. NTFS will not work with the camcorder. B&H to the rescue with price ~1/3 here.

Sony Blunder

AlanB, B&H Photo
10 October 2011
  • Excerpt: Sony has made a significant blunder here that can lead to damaging your camera. This cable and the direct download option work great. It even continues the sequential naming of takes AFTER having reformatted the memory. However this is not a USB Mini-B to USB A cable as described and the connector on the side of the camera is not a USB Mini-B. Both the camera connector and the Mini end of the cable are USB Mini-A.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Interface With Camcorder, Improves Performance, Lightweight, Quality Construction
