Great lens for your camera

  • Excerpt: For large groups, weddings, church events sports and more. To improve Sony should recommend a lens hood to fit on camera because the hood doesn't fit this large lens.
  • Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Use, Improves Picture Quality
  • Cons: Poor Interface Camcorder

Best Value

  • Excerpt: This is a Sony G Lens. I got it for my Sony PMW and it works great. It is packaged for a different market (camcorders) thus is roughly half the price of the wide angle extension lens marketed as specifically made for the PMW 100. A 37mm thread is a 37mm thread. This is the first Sony product I have found which is reasonably priced and doesn't have the SONY name inflated mark up. In fact if you now purchase a PMW 100 they throw in the more expensive lens for free.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Interfaces Well With Camcorder

Impressive optics for standard accessory

  • Excerpt: I am a professional video producer and use this lens on a high-quality consumer camera for active video shots. I'm impressed with the clarity of the glass, which preserves the cameras' high contrast. And the sharpness holds quite well to the corners. No lateral color shift is particularly evident, either. The lens is not quite rectilinear, but architectural lines stay pretty darned straight right up to the edges.

  • Excerpt: I bought this to go along with my HVR-HD1000. Widens the image noticeably (30%) and makes it even clearer! I see why this lens remains popular. I tested it at night and got good results shooting fireworks.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

Improve your Shot

Xpeditions TV, B&H Photo
4 March 2013
  • Excerpt: My wife and I shoot documentaries in south Americas. In many instances we are in close quarters (a cave, a boat. a hut, or just in the dense jungle). The shots we capture just are not good enough to tell the story with a standard fixed lens. So we started looking much like you might be now...We chose the VCL-HGA07B for our new Sony NX70. This lens really makes our footage look exceptional.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Rugged, Strong Construction

  • Excerpt: I use the lens on my Sony PMW-100 XDCAM. It works just as expected - screws right onto the front of the existing lens and increases my field of view. Perfect for use in small interior spaces.

What a lens, man!

  • Excerpt: I needed a wide angle lens to be able to include my whole band in the studio {camera on tripod-no cameraperson}. This lens fit the bill. When I attached it to the camera it almost doubled it in size and weight, but definitely an excellent lens. Yes, I would buy it again.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Strong Construction

Great for the price...

  • Excerpt: I bought one of these conversion lens for my Sony HXR-NX70 to expand it's already fairly wide lens you normally wouldn't find on this class of camera. I was concerned that there might be some vignetting when the steady shot was activated; not a problem! In addition the image was great with no noticeable degradation to the image quality. There was some barrel distortion on the outer edges of the image which is expected for a 0.75x.
