Summary: As a seasoned photographer, I like to be able to frame my shots, and this addition helps you do just that. It comes with an additional back, which I use with the underwater housing and a GoPole, when the assembly is still positively buoyant (but still use a tether!!) The screen is small but uncluttered and can be used to display camera settings, the frame in view, and to review photos and video.
Summary: The LCD backpack was one of those 'should I, shouldn't I' GoPro accessories. Since getting my GoPro I've found myself doing a lot of timelapses - probably more so than actually using it for its proper function of filming 'rad stuntage' on my BMX. For timelapses this is an unfortunate must have - being able to tee up your shots before spending 4-5hrs sitting around whilst it films is a god send, and saves those angry moments of getting home and finding your shot to be...
Summary: Bought it for outdoor sports. It is always helpful to see what you are filming...but unfortunately, for outdoor, you can't see a thing with the sun behind you hence the 3 star...so it is pointless if the sun shines. It is also heavy to have on your helmet but if you take it off there is nowhere to store it and besides, you need to change the outer box back lid if you do so. Fidgety for outdoor especially wet sports.
Summary: Should really have been with the camera from day one but I suppose its a pricing thing. Would the inclusive price have put off many potential buyers? I guess so. If you want to take stills you really can't without it.
Summary: The screen is just big enough and can be programmed to switch off while filming saving battery power. it's a bit small for reviewing footage but an added advantage is that the small sumbols on the front lcd are repeated larger and with a backlight on the LCD.
Summary: Using the LCD screen makes using a GoPro HD2 so much easier. Getting the perfect position, setting the options and even playing back the footage without the use of a computer/TV makes this product a must have, if you're not going down the wireless route.
