Order an enamel pen if you're buying this calculator!

  • Summary: First off, I'd like to say that this calculator FUNCTIONS as it should, and considering that, it is an excellent value for the capabilities if this is the type of calculator you need... but it is not at all pleasant to use!!!!!! While it is not depicted as such in the photo... all of your main function buttons (add, subtract, multiply, "enter" etc.) are "chrome" plated, and highly reflective.

VERY poor button layout, screen can be hard to read

Brad G, Amazon
16 June 2014
  • Summary: Please beware before purchasing this calculator that the button above the "Enter" key in the bottom right is not "+" as it is on 90% of all other TI calculators, but is rather the fraction<>decimal toggle button. While I'm sure some users will find it nice to have fraction<>decimal as a dedicated button, I'm completely baffled why TI would rearrange their basic operator layout used for decades and include it in a location previously used for one of a calculator's most...

Great for our purpose

College Mom, Staples

  • Excerpt: My son needed a non-graphing calculator for his college chemistry class. He chose this one because it still has many functions that he can use and he really likes the Texas Instuments line of calculators, he does have a Texas Instruments graphing calculator that he used before this and it was always reliable for him so that is why he chose another Texas Instruments this time.

Really great calculator

  • Excerpt: This calculator is great, I've used it for calculus and algebra, in classes and at home. I also think it's a nice form factor, especially if you don't need to graph. The layout and buttons also seem nice and updated with better color and stye (silver buttons for the most common operators). Besides the host of functions it can perform I also like the fact that it's solar powered, again playing into the form factor and making it oh so slim.
