Summary: I purchased this calculator to be used for nursing because its listed as a pocket calculator. It will not fit in scrub tops or even in a pocket. Its larger than an iphone and is bigger than a DVD.
Summary: With all of the cheap calculators available today the Texas Instruments 1706 SV is much better than the alternatives I have tried. The buttons are responsive, and the display is larger than most. I like the cover that was included also. You can't go wrong with this calculator at this price!
Summary: I really like this calculator and have used it daily for years (purchased around 2006). If I took it out of my desk drawer and it was dark in my office, I turned on my desk lamp and held the calculator and it powered immediately. It even powers when held against those pathetically weak energy efficient light bulbs.
Summary: It's bigger than I expected; however, it fits well in one hand. The hard cover, however, must be completely taken off the back of it and put on the front to protect it. It feels kind of flimsy. It could have been designed better. It's more comfortable to hold the calculator in your hand without the cover attached to it.
Summary: I once had a TI "pocket" calculator that was similar to the one pictured in this discription. It was small, compact, easy to use. The item I received was, unfortunately, significantly bigger than the one I had before (by about 30-40%). Functionally, it is the same and with its larger size, actually easier to use (somewhat larger buttons). Still, it was not what I expected.
