Excerpt: It is a big improvement over the old Sharp Fin Calc I got way back in the late 80's. Very similar design and layout. This one is larger, which is great for my older eyes. More functions and flexibility, more memory keys also.
Pros: Adequate Capabilities, Attractive Design, Clear Display, Easy To Use
Excerpt: I bought this calculator because I had owned a Sharp financial calculator that I purchased over 10 years ago. It finally died and I needed a replacement. I bought this one over the internet, and am not happy. The designers went nuts adding functions. It is way to complex for everyday financial calculations. This is designed for PhD students, not for working folks. I'd like to get my old Sharp back!
Summary: FIRST, this is not a scientific calculator, it is a financial calculator and if someone in advanced university science or math classes buys it for either purpose they will be sorely dissappointed! As a financial calculator it excels. However, it supercedes the EL-733A which was a superior calculator in many ways. Sharp has made access to certain functions more difficult on their new 738...things that were easy to find and use on the old 733A!
Excerpt: This was a replacment for my older Sharp as I needed a new calculator for my mortgage and realty business. My older one was also a Sharp and I loved that one too but this new one has the new buttons that makes it easier and better display.
Pros: Adequate Capabilities, Attractive Design, Clear Display, Easy To Use, Long Battery Life, Quality Construction
Excerpt: It is difficult to add and subtract with this calulator, let alone try some of the more difficult calcs. Even when you follow the keystrokes in the manual it doesn't work. I wish there was a 0 Star rating.
