Summary: The calculator I purchased had nothing written in the description saying that the cover was not able to slip in properly over the calculator surface. I could have purchased a new one for extra bucks but with a sturdy cover, so make sure the description says exactly what the real product will look like.

Summary: 3 years ago, in Calc 1, I accidentally left my TI-83 in the classroom, and was never able to find it again. I had a test, and needed something, so ran to the university's book store, and had to choose between this for $10 and some TI calculator for $40. They looked almost identical, and I wanted the TI, because I knew they were a good brand, but I was poor and had to "settle" for this one.
Summary: I have this calculator for about 1 year and the paint of the digits have completely faded away. Often when I push a button, the calculator does not respond. When you push a calculation button twice, for example +, or first push - and then +, the calculator gives an error, while other calculators would take the last entered calculation button. When you would like to see a subtotal, for example 3+5+8+ other calculators would calculate at every entry of the +.
Summary: Absolutely top-of-the-line calculator for basic science courses. College-level physics, chemistry, biology, statistics--this works just fine. For more advanced math (say, 300-level and above) you may want to consider something higher, and, of course, more expensive. Great value for the money, and rock-solid plastic build!
