The Casio PRIZM is a calculator that features a Blanview LCD (Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT) display with 82,944 (216x384) dots pixel and 65,536 colors color support. The display features 8 lines of 21 characters (including lines in Function Menu). The Casio PRIZM supports Full Textbook-Style Display with Math Input/Output, 28 variables, +/-1x10-99 to +/-9.999999999x1099 and 0 calculation range, and uses a 15-digit mantissa internal input. The Casio PRIZM has a 61,440 bytes program capacity, a 16 MB storage capacity, has a 0.6W power consumption and features a USB Port that complies with USB 2.0 standards. It is powered by AAA-size alkaline batteries LR03 (AM4) or Nickel-metal hydride batteries that provides up to 250 hours (AAA alkaline batteries)/150 hours nickel-metal hydride batteries. The Casio PRIZM measures 0.81” x 3.52” x 7.42” and weighs 0.51 lb. (including alkaline batteries).

Features

The Casio PRIZM™ (PRIZM fx-CG10) is a graphing calculator that features a high- resolution color LCD and various functions designed to assist with math lessons. The PRIZM™ includes Picture Plot function that enables users to plot graphs over curves and other familiar shapes in real life, such as the parabola of jets from a water fountain. It supports a high-resolution color LCD with full textbook-style display at 82,944 dots resolution and has a color reproduction of 65,536 colors. The PRIZM™ comes with high-resolution fonts up to 18x24 dots (including blank dots), to enable equations and text to be displayed just like they appear in textbooks. Other features on the calculator includes 55 types of color pictures that users can create graphs over, such as a picture of the parabola of jets from a water fountain and an image sequence of a clock’s pendulum movement; performs regression calculations from the completed graphs; ability to graph objects including dotted lines, circles, and bars, as well as grid lines on graphs, labels of coordinate axes, and coordinate values displayed during tracing; Color Link function which links the colors used in graphs to the designated values in the spreadsheet screen, to aid the visual comprehension of trends and changes in values; and ability to color-code brackets when entering equations with multiple brackets, as a visual aid to facilitate the entry of complex equations. The PRIZM™ is available in January 2011 with an MSRP of $129.99.
