Summary: This is probably a good calculator but mine doesn`t even turn on! Nothing, not even the solar power works.Completely dead. Not recommended. ****UPDATE**** Ok I got a refund from Amazon and purchased another one. The Canon F-766S is a 2 line, dual power (solar-battery, button style) scientific calculator. It has a total of 349 functions and features, 38 built-in formulas, 17 memories (store-recall). It feautures adjustable LCD contrast and logic algebra calculation.
Summary: It's a good basic scientiic calculator, with all the bells and whistles you would expect for the price. I still like my HP 32S2 a lot better, but you can't get them any more. The solar power is a really handy feature. I've tried a basic Casio recently, and I like the feel and button layout better of this Canon.
Summary: I've owned three Texas Instrument calculators in the past several years and all three have died on me. I owned a TI-83+ Silver Edition which failed after only two and a half years (I have never dropped that calculator). It no longer holds any memory even after I replaced the backup battery in the rear. It also drains any fresh set of AAA batteries I feed it in about a day. I have also owned the TI-30XA and TI-30XIIS.
