A good basic engineering calculator

Bob, Amazon

  • Summary: I chose this calculator because it has all the functions that I need, but doesn't that I don't need. Keys are easy to read and stand out. Most frequently used fucntions (i.e. Memory) have their own keys. I don't have to toggle through the menu like those graphing calculators. Other calculators requires several key strokes to perform the same thing. With this one, I can do everything with just two key strokes. I find keys are better laid out than other competitors.

Does not display your functions on the screen

Melanie Harvey, Amazon

  • Summary: While waiting for this product to arrive, I borrowed my daughter's calculator for my first physics lab, and when you keyed the functions, the operation would appear in the display. In other words, as I typed: (4.2x10^8)(1.4x10^3)-- all of those things showed up on the screen as you pressed the keys and you saw the answer when you pressed the equals sign. This Canon calculator does not do that. It only displays the answer when you press the "=" sign.
