Summary: I own 2 machines , one at home and one in AZ where we winter. we had one for years when we were stll RVing and gave that one away and bought another the same type. My only complaint is the display window needs to be lighted.
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Easy to use, Durable, Exceeded expectations, Convenient, very good buy
Summary: I ALWAYS have to remove bread 10-15 minutes before time is up for all the recipes I have tried. If I leave it in the full time the bread is too brown and crust is tough. So you can not just set the timer and expect it to be ready when bread machine cycles off. It does not brown the bread evenly, but that is not a big problem if you remove it early.
Pros: Easy to use, Convenient, a good price
Cons: Did not meet expectations, timer not accurate
Summary: I purchased a Panasonic SDRD250W breadmaker on Feb 7 2012. It made beautiful bread and I used it weekly until Oct 29 2012 when it developed a problem. I returned it to the deaker and his work order read "Display locks up will not allow select options also when start hit it will jump to French and locks up". I received a replacement on "exchange" on Nov 12 2012. It worked well until Feb 2 2012 a mere 3 months later.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Expensive, Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
Summary: Although I have only owned the product for a short time. I believe I made the right choice. The breadmaker has worked flawlessly since put in use. Directions are easy to follow, and the breads produced have been impressive. I contacted customer service with one question and the Panasonic reply was immediate and positive.
Pros: Inexpensive, Easy to use, Convenient, well made
Summary: We bought this breadmaker because in UK we loved our Panasonic SD-253. That machine made beautiful bread. We made break about 3-4 times a week, and SD-253 never showed any sign of wear. Sadly, in US the voltage is different, and we had to give away our trusty SD-253. When buying Panasonic SD-RD250 we grudgingly accepted the fact that, unlike its UK counterpart, it does not bake whole wheat bread.
Summary: I already had a 2 lb. bread maker, but I was interested in the Panasonic because of the auto yeast dispenser. I made the wheat bread with molasses and it was perfect. I'm anxious to try all the recipes.
Pros: Easy to use, Exceeded expectations, Convenient
Summary: I'm very disappointed with this bread maker . I .ve had two Panasonic bread makers in Europe , most recently the SD 2501 and both machine s I Ve used had true whole wheat cycle (5 hours) . I regret not reading all the reviews fully or I would never had bought this machine. I assumed the Panasonic named guaranteed the functionality I was used to but this model is years behind the European models.
