Summary: We bought this unit originally to play CDs and, secondarily, MP3 CDs. It has been used frequently ever since, and our use has evolved. Nowadays, the primary use is as speakers for an iPhone connected to the "Line In" port. It would be nice if it had a proper USB connector for the phone, so it could charge it as well as playing the music, but this is not a large problem. The sound is good, the unit works, and it's attractive compared to most boomboxes.
Summary: I'm not an expert on sound machines but this sound is better than most players I have heard. I used it for tapes and then I gave it to someone who plays CDs and also attaches it to an iPod and they like it too. It's still working after three years. It looks attractive also.
Summary: This player has worked well for 4 months. However, it has limited bass response and sound dull when the megabass is turned on. When I tried to use the distributed software to create a mp3 disk, just got junk, the music sounded very wierd. I have not experimented with creating another mp3 disk.
do not pay more then $100 for this!! Target has it for $70..

Summary: This is the first time I've written one of these and it's not to give a review as I don't have it yet- But I thought I had to warn people NOT TO BUY IT FROM THIS SELLER (value-warehouse)- YOU ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF! As I look at this Amazon listing right now it says the price on this is $199.99- there is only 1 seller offering it, value-warehouse. Well Target has it for $70, so what's with the huge difference there?
Summary: This "boombox" never worked right out of the box. The cd player was unable to read any type of cd. I tried two brand new cds right out of their packaging. After contacting Sony they requested I ship the unit to Texas (they begrudgingly provided shipping costs) and offered me a refurbished unit to replace my brand new one. I rejected this "generous offer" and requested a new replacement unit.
Summary: I bought this so I could listen to music in my kitchen. Great cd playback options and a great remote. The line in for an ipod is a single line in, I think 1/4 inch plug - not RCA's. Does not come with a cord. Ipod playback was perfect. A few things to consider. The sound is a little muddy. If you compare it to a decent home stereo, it sounds horrible, if you compare it to a clock radio it sounds great.
Summary: I have been very happy with this boom-box. Don't expect more than a good quality boom-box with some neat technological features - which I have yet to use but look forward to. I appreciate not having a cassette (whatever that is... why do they make those anymore?). I like the styling and the feel. Sound is just fine if not actually pretty good for a boom box with custom basic equalizer.
