Summary: I want to start out by saying this is a Excellent Sounding Boombox with a powerful amplifier you can literally feel the bass if you touch the sides of the boombox. I wanted to let other buyers know that the Cassette Tape Player is unreliable and mine now has a stuck Pause Button and the door will not latch shut to play tapes so I will be putting Duct Tape on the door of the Cassette Tape Player.
Summary: This product is easy to operate for elderly people like me and the sound of music I played is great. With only one little problem is the price was too high compared to other suppliers. But I still do recommend to others about this product.
Summary: I purchased a refurbished Sony CFDS01 CD Radio Cassette Recorder from a well-reviewed Amazon retailer and it has proven to be almost a total failure. I tested it on battery power initially and it worked but after a few weeks (in which time I was using it on AC power) the batteries, which had not been used, entirely drained themselves apparently through some sort of short-circuit within the unit.
Summary: I just bought this recently and love it. I use it in my personal work space. I mostly bought it for the tape player/cd combo. I like how exact I can get the volume, there are three levels to each number (for example, you're at volume 3 but you have three notches of volume within that number before going down to 2 or up to 4). The radio has great reception and gets a lot of stations clearly.
Summary: The second I turned it on I noticed the fuzzy feedback noise coming from the speakers--and it's audible whether it's radio or CD or cassette. Even when nothing is playing that shhhhhh sound comes from the speakers. It's very cheapy looking and feeling. After 2 years the CD player broke. I'm quite leery of Sony now.
Summary: The radio function of this Sony product pulls in distant stations and has push-button station changing and it stays on frequency - no drift. The aerial is a pull-up whip style which works fine. Both the casette and CD functions play well. B.
Summary: I am disappointed with the feel, which is very cheap. We paid about fifty dollars for it last January; that was too much then and I notice that now it is up to eighty-odd, which is certainly not good value for the money. The CD function has been fine (which is why three stars), but the cassette player is unreliable and the door sticks shut such that I have to pry it open to remove or insert tapes..
Summary: it is a great item , but fails in one way.. when i play CD_R or CD_RW recorded with 18 or more songs. it start to fails in the next songs after the 18 one.. and not read the music property.. so it fails in these factor.. im going to return mine today, and try to get something diferent..
