Summary: I really like this boombox. It is easy to operate, sound is fantastic (for a little set of speakers) and it seems to be made of reasonable quality materials, EXCEPT in the matter of the slide drawer for the CD player. This part of the radio seems to be awfully cheap and flimsy. I think it would snap off easily, if you were not careful. I especially do like the USB Port for insertion of your thumb drive(s) to give you more uninterrupted music that YOU actually like.

Summary: I bought 2 of these in Dec, 2013. I was looking for something that would play mp3 discs and they are hard to find. The radio is not much good, but if I could figure out how to get it to play mp3 discs in the right order I would be basically satisfied. I made a couple of books on tape mp3 discs which had 6- cds on them. When I tried to play them on this machine (Both didn't work correctly.), instead of playing cd 1, then 2, 3, etc, it might play #3 first, then #5, etc.
Summary: I just received this unit 2 days ago and cannot stop playing my CD's. I had just had to return 2 defective Bose units since JAN 2014. This boombox sounds better than the Bose!. Hard to beleive; but my friends have heard it and all of us are amazed at the quality of sound and it plays burned CD's just like they are new. I love the remote control as I ws used to that with my Bose. The unit weighs 10 lbs. and looks very sharp in any setting in any room.
Summary: The sound is good and it's easy to setup. I don't know that a remote control was really necessary as I haven't found a use for that. I've always been pleased with Panasonic product reliability and I noticed there weren't too many reputable brands selling boomboxes any longer.
Summary: I read all the previous reviews so I was alert to all the potential 'problems' I might find. I just didn't find them. The power cord does have a loose fitting adapter to American outlets, so the first thing I did was tape them together - no more loose adapter. Then I noticed that any ordinary American power cord has just a slightly different plug on the appliance side, so I trimmed that end of one of them with a knife an it fit right into the radio- so no more bulky...
Summary: If you want a portable and adequate devise to hear good music and voice consider the Panasonic RX-D55GC-K. It sounds good enough to please my husband who always became upset at my old portable sound machine. I like to play music loud so it really got his goat to hear bad sound loud. He is happy. I am happy. You could be happy.
Summary: For the price I was expecting it to be a lot bigger, but it is deep, surprisingly heavy, and seems well made. I've only played CD's so far, but the sound quality is great, far better than I was expecting. As for the plug adapter, I wrapped mine with electrical tape to keep it together ( no big deal and you don't even notice it ). I wanted CD/ cassette and portability, and this is the only good one out there. Thanks Panasonic !
