A piece of junk--arrived "new" broken! Very cheaply made, worst quality...

Summary: Huge rip-off: came "new" with broken cassette player (couldn't play a tape) from day one. Does Coby have a Quality Control Dept? Does anyone check their products for major defects before they leave the factory? I doubt it! This was brand new? It was a piece of junk that arrived broken! Very cheaply made. Avoid Coby products due to the worst quality control in the industry (IMHO).
Summary: This is a piece of junk. Never worked right. Even the plug for external speakers had to be fiddled with. Will not play CD's without messing them up. Don't ever put a CD in one of these if you want to play it again. Waste of money.
Summary: I bought it in April for an 80 y.o. friend who wanted to listen to books on tape. He lives in another state. From recent contact I learned that he has had 2 hospitalizations and just recently had the opportunity to use this radio/tape player. To his disappointment it ate 3 of his tapes. It can't be returned as it is over the 30 day return limit.
Summary: I purchased this over two years ago at a higher price; however, it is a good value. It plays MP3 burned on CDs which is the main feature motivating me to purchase it. At the time I thought $43 was a good price. It is a better value now.
