Summary: But it works pretty good. You do have to put in the 10 D batteries even though it's plugged into an outlet to get the best sound. I'm not sure I'd recommend it if you had the resources to get something better. I didn't, but for what it cost, I'm not unhappy.
Summary: I really like this boom box. It didn't cost alot and it does everything I like to do when I record with an external microphone. Not to many boomboxes have that feature. My first boom box did but it bit the dust.
