Rodney Price "Rodd", Amazon
5 May 2010
Summary: This is an excellent radio and is only sold thru Wal-Mart and Radio Shack's website and ship to the store if you want to buy one over the counter. The Amazon price was $44 and free shipping comnpared to $60+. I have a large collection of old cassettes that exceed 20 yrs. Most are high quality CR02 and Metal and in good shape. This radio sounds excellent with them since they were quality recordings even without the use of a built in EQ.
Summary: I bought this for my boyfriend so he could record himself playing guitar and for playing music while he jammed with it. The speakers put out some awesome sound.I did buy it thru the Amazon warehouse...which only said the box was damaged... but one of the speaker grilles had a 3" dent in it,but for the money I saved it was worth the dent.Boom boxes are harder to find than you think. The quality of this product is OMG awesome.
Summary: I like the unit for the audio tape concvenience. It allows my family to listen to our preferred tapes and myself to my CD. My wife loves to listen to her favorite radio station while folding laundry in the basement. The price for all these features was also a good incentive for my ordering this unit.
Summary: SEEING THE SEPARATE WOOFER SPEAKERS GOT MY HOPES UP THAT THE UNIT COULD DELIVER GOOD BASS AND HIGH SOUND VOLUME. UNFORTUNATELY, THE BASS (BOOSTED) IS WEAK AND THE SOUND TOTALLY COMES APART IF YOU TRY TO CRANK IT UP A BIT. IT IS A GOOD LOOKING UNIT AND SEEMS WELL-BUILT. LACKS A CLOCK OR LED READOUT FOR RADIO WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT FEATURES. TUNING IS DIFFICULT AND THE DIAL IS WAY OFF FREQUENCY. WISH ME BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME.
Summary: I have been using this radio and CD feature and love the big sound and clear sound it gives. I mostly plug it in, but if you use the batteries, be ready to lug around a big heavy weight. The cassette feature is OK, but could be better. The radio works well, but it's hard to tell where the stations are. I had to mark them with masking tape to find them. But I go for the quality of the sound and this one is top notch.
