Zombie (Blu-ray Review)

31 October 2011
  • Conclusion: Well, the peeps over at Blue Underground have certainly outdone themselves. Zombie has never looked or sounded as good as it does on the Blu-ray format. Not only are the technical specifications up to snuff, but the special features are outrageously awesome! They’re also presented in HD! It’s obvious that Zombie is now the company’s flagship title. It’s a two disc set that will satisfy the true horror/zombie fan. I’m speechless. Buy. This. NOW!

High-Def Digest

  • Conclusion: 'Zombie' is a great, fun film, full of memorable characters, creatures, kills, scenes, music, and ideas. It's not your ordinary run of the mill foreign zombie film, either, and is very coherent and incredibly tense. If you're a newcomer to the zombie sub-genre and haven't seen this, now is the time. Correct the blasphemy. Blue Underground's two disc release is loaded with extras, and features a solid presentation. This set comes easily recommended.

Zombie Blu-ray Review

25 October 2011
  • Summary: I'm sure there's a natural explanation . If anyone is looking for the perfect example of ruthless, unafraid, hardcore Horror cinema, this is it. Zombie is a gore-driven spectacle the likes of which are rarely seen even in the Horror genre. The movie has no qualms about allowing the camera to linger on shots of incredible grotesqueness, whether torn flesh, gushing blood, rotten bodies, or popping eyeballs. It's insanely gory, but it's not exactly frightening.
