Excerpt: As you might expect, the first X-Men movie was a huge success, both financially and critically. A sequel was inevitable. But what would it be about? You can tell this is a bigger production, both in the special effects and in the fact that he expanded the cast. All of the X-Men from the first film return; there is also an increased role for a lot of the smaller characters, like Iceman and Pyro. Plus, we get Nightcrawler as played by Alan Cumming.
Summary: In a continuance of the saga he began, Bryan Singer expands on the action sequences and mutant powers he explored in the first film. X2 is flashier, more adventuresome, and, sometimes, cheesier. As a big budget super hero adaptation fueled by adrenaline, it works, and it is vastly superior to the crowded third entry.
Summary: It was pretty good, but they ruined it when they made Pyro, Rogue, and Iceman kids and wolverine the main character. They should've used Colossus more too. Wolverine is overused in this movie.
Summary: Action: 3 / 3, Comedy: 0.5 / 2, Good vs Evil: 1 / 1, Love/Sex: 1 / 1, Special Effects: 1 / 1, Plot: 1 / 1, Music: 1 / 1 = 8.5 / 10 or 85%, which is 3 / 4 stars per my rating system. An incredible upgrade to the first film with a tight, satisfying story that leaves the action-fan in all of us wanting more. A great evolution for the Marvel series!
Summary: Another great X-Men. I loved that Wolverine got to let loose and kick more butt in this one. Magnito, as always, is excellently bad. Never been a fan of Berry's acting but it's better in this one than the first. Loved the addition of a new villain (Stryker) and that the Mutants have to join forces to defeat him.
Summary: Much better than the first, this one has a good plot, really smart-good action, and some good actors. It is fun and entertaining to watch. My only problem is that the relationship between all the members is missing something. Oh well.
