Excerpt: "Take dead aim at action-packed laughs with this killer comedy featuring an all-star cast. Emily Blunt steals the show as Rose, a free-spirited thief who finds herself in the crosshairs of a world-class assassin named Victor (Bill Nighy). But when Victor spares Rose's life, the lonely-hearted hitman sets off an outrageous chain of events that turn both their worlds upside down.
Conclusion: Wild Target on Blu-ray is another one of those releases that falls victim to poor supplemental features for its home video release. Make no mistake, Wild Target is a fun little caper of a film and you should check it out. The obvious downside to the Blu-ray is that the special features are non-existent. Other than that, Wild Target is a fun little romp that I was happy to take.
Conclusion: I enjoyed 'Wild Target' for what it was, a madcap, zany story about a hitman wanting to retire, and the unlikely duo he picks up along the way. All of these well known British actors look like they're having fun, and none of them look like they're sulking around waiting for a paycheck. It's a light-hearted little comedy with a few laughs. The video and audio both have fantastic presentations. There's only one special feature, but I kind of expected that.
Excerpt: "Wild Target" is a feature that causes extreme discomfort. It's not an especially hideous action comedy, merely one that wastes a colossal amount of thespian skill on uninspired material, tumbling through 90 minutes of screentime without achieving any laughs or thrills, leaving a group of marvelous actors to twist in the wind, waiting for punchlines that never arrive. It's all such a shame.
Excerpt: "Wild Target" is remake with all things British, recruiting the help of some of its finest actors to impart the land's odd humour. As the professional killer goes about his deadly serious business, his actions are unmistakably downplayed and amusing. The jolly music is turned up, and the film reaches a far greater audience. The result is fun, although many jokes are often hit and miss, and the pace is all over the place.
