  • Summary: Watchmen takes place in 1985, where costumed vigilantes have been outlawed except those working for the government. When a masked veteran is murdered, heroes unite to find the killer, but as the truth is revealed a far more sinister plot is uncovered. this movie has stunning visual effect's and Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson are the only three good actors in the movie that rest of the actors are mostly forgettable or bad.

  • Summary: Very faithful to the source material, and it works well. I do prefer the cuts without "The Black Freighter"; The Ultimate Cut suffers from those awkward cheap-looking animated insertions and just doesn't flow too well. A strong, serious, and adult superhero chronicle that sets itself apart from others in more ways than one. Zack Snyder really did a respectful job in bringing the graphic Very faithful to the source material, and it works well.

  • Excerpt: 'What happened to us?' a startled and confused Nite Owl II asks as he stands in the middle of the aftermath of the carnage that used to line the street. 'What happened to the American dream?' Blake only chuckles, his mocking smile peering out from under his mask. 'The American dream? It came true! You're looking at it.

Who loves dark & edgy superhero flicks?

Lucius Archangel, Warner Bros
26 August 2013
  • Summary: I watched this film for the first time and I was blown away by visual effects Zack Snyder and his team provide this film with and the powerful characters in this film. The story is very kool and it takes a lot of paying attention to get it. If you loved The Dark Knight then you may just like this!
  • Pros: Awesome, Engaging Characters, Entertaining, Excellent Special Effects, Great Cinematography, High Production Value, Talented Acting, Underrated

  • Summary: I really like Zack Snyder so I've been wanting to see this for years. I might have been expecting a little more, but Watchmen does not disappoint at all. It's not even close to being perfect, but it certainly has MANY good things going for it...

  • Summary: Watchmen is a halluzinogene, sharp and sterile adaption of the comics, which were regarded of being not filmable. But Zack Snyder's creation lives through the pain and insanity the fallen heroes are exposed to. It is probably the best film I have ever seen.

  • Summary: This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was a very disappointing book-to-film portrayal. Not only do they include the only stupid element from the book (Jon's ability to see into the future which I fully expected them to keep) but they also changed some things for the worst.

Pales Badly t

FilmCrave
2 November 2012
  • Excerpt: This is a review written within the larger perspective of the mythos of the Watchmen universe. On the surface, Watchmen is a visually-arresting, thrilling, and strikingly unique super hero film. Until you read the graphic novel source material and realize how vacantly short the film adaptation falls in terms of tone and theme. Watchmen nails a lot of the visuals and Zack Snyder has a kinetic way of choreographing action powerfully.

Who watches the Watchmen?

LABiker, Warner Bros
6 September 2012
  • Summary: This is NOT a kid's movie! This is a dark, brooding graphic novel come to screen, and has thematic elements that will sail over the heads of any kids watching it. I saw it in theatres at the time of release and was stunned at the # of parents who brought pre-teens to it, apparently quite unaware that this was not a comic-book movie; far from it!
  • Pros: Engaging Characters, Entertaining, Excellent Special Effects, High Production Value, Talented Acting

The Perfect way to experience one of the greatest Stories ever told

Hanif Muhammad, IMDb
1 July 2012
  • Summary: I wasn't sure what to expect from this motion comic. I bought it with The Ultimate cut edition of the live action film. When I first began to watch it I wasn't sure it was going to be very good. The animation took a while to get used to and the use of the same male narrator for the female voices was jarring but by the end of the series I was utterly blown away. The Narrator is incredible talented at bringing the voices of our most beloved characters to life.
