Amazingly Fun Movie!

TaxiTodd, blu-ray.com
6 March 2015
  • Excerpt: This is a great mix of comedy and gore. Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk deliver great comedic performances as the bumbling hillbillies Tucker & Dale. It also delivers an always welcome dose of eye candy featuring Katrina Bowden.

  • Summary: Two easy-going West Virginian hillbillies looking to enjoy a weekend getaway at their run-down cabin meet a group of preppy college kids who assume they are chainsaw-wielding, inbred monsters and get into a hilarious, bloody confrontation.

Two rednecks, six yuppies and a wood chipper!

Monnie1976, FilmCrave

  • Excerpt: A fantastic horror comedy that gets things perfect. Playing off the whole redneck murders in the woods motif done in films like Wrong Turn, this tale of mistaken identity gives us surprisingly likeable protagonists.

  • Summary: A really funny movie and just a damn great watch. It makes sense to me that it is a Canadian-made movie It has that ambiance to it. Worth the watch for comedy and slasher films.

Slasher Parody done well

cvm, blu-ray.com
10 July 2012
  • Excerpt: Tucker and Dale is all you could ask for in a slasher parody. There is great humor mixed with blood and gore. The main characters have great chemistry between them and it helps to entangle you in the story even more.

  • Summary: A funny take on the slasher genre, turning the "villains" into heroes who are fighting the same college kids who are often victims in slasher films. The comedy is dark and often tongue-in-cheek, a la Scream.

  • Summary: One of those horror movies that is so bad it's good. It has many laughs and it quite original, definitely pick it up some time to watch with a group of friends.

  • Summary: Horror and comedy is hard to get right - but this really hits the nail on the head. Fans of slasher films will enjoy this case of mistaken identity as a couple of rednecks on vacation are taken for backwoods killers by local college kids (who just can't help but keeping dying off around them).

A Big Surprise

27 December 2011
  • Excerpt: This is the way parodies should be made! And as another reviewer said it is a lot like Simon Pegg's work. And let me say, the last hour or so, is really epic. The PQ was awesome. I didnt see any problems. The AQ seemed fine. I didnt see any problems with it.

  • Summary: A genius comedy premise that turns the tables on horror conventions and delivers an abundance of big laughs. For a story built on accidents and misunderstandings, it's consistently clever and hilarious. One of the most fun movies I've seen all year.
